Gary L. Van Valkenburgh CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Gary Van Valkenburgh founded ES Systems Inc. in 2002 and is responsible for the overall management and profitability of the company. . Prior to ES Systems he founded various successful environmental companies including Fire Protection Inc. and Shields Environmental Corporation. Mr. Van Valkenburgh spent several years working with US Oil Companies i.e.. Shell, Mobil, Chevron, Union Oil and Texaco where he was responsible for dealing with numerous environmental issues. He has designed and developed many environmentally focused products and owns several patents. He is a Washington D.C. representative and corporate member of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). Corporate member of The Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) and member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Southern California and attended the Graduate School of Engineering at University of Southern California.
N. Stephen Van Valkenburgh COO (Chief Operating Officer)
Stephen Van Valkenburgh joined ES Systems in 2002 and is responsible for all technical issues. Prior to ES Systems, he founded Shields Manufacturing Corporation, and Co/founded Fire Protection Inc. & Shields Environmental Corporation. Mr. Van Valkenburgh spent several years working with Naval Petroleum Reserve #1, Exxon, Getty, Mobil & Shell where he was responsible for various environmental, safety & occupational health issues. He also participated on various National Committees responsible for developing environmental regulations for National Fire Protection Agency "NFPA", Environmental Protection Agency "EPA", also developed the "Code Reference Chart", which is a quick reference guide for the proper storage and handling of Hazardous Materials using the Uniform Fire Codes "UFC", and Uniform Building Codes "UBC". He is a Washington D.C. representative and corporate member of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). Corporate member of The Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) and member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). He attended Pepperdine University for technical engineering and attended the Graduate School of Engineering at University of Southern California.

Don joined ES Systems in September, 2006 as a Consultant responsible for New Business Development. Prior to ES Systems, he held senior management positions at high-tech companies including Authentix, FSI International, and Texas Instruments. He served 20 years as an officer in the US Air Force earning the rank of Lieutenant Colonel prior to his military retirement. While in the USAF, Don worked on several development programs including the F-15 Fighter and the E-4B Airborne Command Post. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Indiana University and received an MS degree in Systems Management from Florida Institute of Technology. Don has a diverse background in the management and development of technical programs (electronics, chemistry, semiconductor, nanotechnology, aeronautical, etc.) for Government and industrial customers alike. Michael J Krans joined ES Systems in September, 2003 as a Consultant responsible for New Business Development. Prior to ES Systems, he held senior management positions at high-tech companies including Racal Electronics, Sony Corporation, and Xyratex Ltd. He served on the Board of Directors for Racal Recorders Inc. and Xyratex. Mr. Krans also spent several years steering new business development for IBM, Gould Electronics, EMASS Corporation and Lockheed Martin. Before his business career, he was a pilot in the United States Air Force earning the rank of Major. He graduated with a BS degree in Engineering from the University of Illinois and received his MBA from Southern Illinois University.
Mike Bills "Director of Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health"
Mike J Bills is a corporate member of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) and has been in sales and Marketing for the past 20 years. His expertise is in the environmental field working directly with military personnel in the design and implementation of "Hazardous Materials Facilities" including health and safety issues. He works with Federal agencies pertaining to compliance issues and codes along with the design and manufacturing of various environmental products of which he oversees the Quality assurance and Quality Control. He attended Pasadena City College for his degree in Business Management. At ESSI Mr Bills participates in a multitude of conferences and lectures to be current with the latest Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health compliance issues.
